2302 Isn't
it A shame-
------DESCRIPTION:
These famous original hits were made possible for
this special record collection, by the
unprecedented spirit of cooperation of record
manufacturers, performers, composers, music
publishers, and record producers Martin Gilbert and
Troy Cory. Never before has a similar collection of
talent been assembled. The Winners of the first
Country Hall of Fame inductees, were selected by a
team headed by Troy Cory and Martin Gilbert.
------To
fit the 25 songs into one record, some of the songs
were edited down to fit the album, (to the
displeasure of some of the artists). The selections
have been programmed in such a manner as to provide
the maximum in sustained listening pleasure of 25
country music artists.
------Listen
to the artistry of the vocalists on this album:
Hank Williams, Lefty Fritzell, Roy Acuff, Kitty
Wells and all the others. Each has an
individuality, a flavorful tang that is
unmistakable.
------A
musical form does not stand still. If it did, it
would stagnate. In brief, a musical form must be
dynamic and grow with the times. But it can do so
while still retaining its unique orientation - and
that is country music today.
------The
Nashville Country Hall of Fame still carries a
little plaque honoring Martin Gilbert and this
album.
