Arthouse to Adventure: A Cinematic Cornucopia For Young Viewers
Munich - June 9, 2025 - With a keen awareness of what appeals to young viewers, Tobias Krell ("Checker Tobi") and Tobias Obermeier present a diverse lineup of films that will lead children ages five and up to discover the world of cinema. Whether they're poignant arthouse cinema, impressive documentaries, or star-studded, big-budget productions, the films in this carefully curated section are a window to the lives of others and to the soul of the viewers themselves. Highlights include the return of Pumuckl, family-oriented cinema with Glenn Close, and a reading and screening with Marc-Uwe Kling.
•••• This section will officially open on Saturday, June 28, with the CineKindl trailer created by local teenagers preceding the German premiere of the animated film "Tafiti - Across the Desert". Director Nina Wels brings a popular children's book to life, giving a sensitive touch to a desert adventure story about friendship, courage, and solidarity.
•••• "There's probably no better place than a movie theater for exploring new horizons. Our program aims to entertain viewers, challenge them, and broaden their minds." - Tobias Krell and Tobias Obermeier, Programmer CineKindl/CineYou.
••••

Stirring tales and dazzling worlds of make-believe

This year, the variety in the CineKindl section includes eight feature films, one series, and five short films. All of these deal with the lives of children and teenagers, without shying away from the painful aspects. An example of this is the American indie film "Omaha", in in which two children are affected by a life-changing decision their father makes. This first feature film by director Cole Webley was acclaimed at the renowned Sundance Film Festival. The stop-motion film "Tales from the Magic Garden" (directed by David Súkup et al.) is also about family relationships. Following the death of their grandmother, Tom, Suzanne, and Derek bring joy back into their grandfather's house by telling imaginative stories. Pure joie de vivre is also found in the colorful animated film "Hola Frida!" (directed by Karine Vézina and André Kadi). Imaginative imagery takes us into the mind of Frida Kahlo, a famous artist who in childhood was long confined to bed but did not despair. Eleven-year-old Bobby O'Brien also faces the adversities of life in "Spilt Milk" (directed by Brian Durnin). Setting out to find his missing brother, he winds up on a daring adventure.

Living in, with, and for nature

Three other films in this section are set in very different but equally impressive natural environments. "The Botanist" (directed by Jing Yi) is about a special friendship in the far northwest of China. In "Summer Camp" (directed by Mateo Ybarra), thousands of young Scouts gather in the heart of the Swiss Alps to learn the rules of communal living and taste the thrill of freedom. "The Summer Book" (directed by Charlie McDowell) is set on a small, pristine island in the Gulf of Finland. Based on the novel of that title by Tove Jansson, this film uses subtle imagery to relate the passage of time and the healing power of nature.

Return of an icon and short stories from around the world

Hooray! The mischievous goblin is back! After a hugely successful first season, director Marcus H. Rosenmüller presents "New Stories from Pumuckl - Season Two", full of further hilarious antics in the familiar carpentry workshop.

The "Shorts for Kids" program is again serving up a quality selection of short films that are guaranteed to thrill and dazzle all movie fans aged eight and up. Whether they're set in a Peruvian mountain village or on a fantastical flight with a bat, they all tell their own unique stories about community, friendship, and solidarity.

CineYou: Getting young viewers involved

CineYou, our participatory program for children, teenagers, and young adults, invites these groups to engage with the festival. In the online school workshop moderated by Tobias Krell and Tim Gailus, children in grades 1 through 6 will get to look behind the scenes of the world of filmmaking. Marc-Uwe Kling will present his latest book, "Neon & Bor", and introduce the animated series adapted from it. CineYou will start off with the Young Night, a party held in cooperation with Museum Brandhorst and the Kunstareal München on the evening of June 27, 2025 in the open area between the Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst.

Awards

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the CineKindl jury will select the best feature film from this competition and present it with the CineKindl Award. This prize, worth ¤ 3,000, is sponsored by the megaherz film production company.

Audience members also get to have their say. After each screening, there will be an opportunity to vote for the film they liked best. The winner of the CineKindl Audience Award will also be announced on July 5, 2025, with that film being screened again on Sunday, July 6, 2025 in the Audimax auditorium at the HFF (free admission).

Gillian Anderson to receive the CineMerit Award at the 42nd Munich International Film Festival
Munich - May 29, 2025 - The Munich International Film Festival is proud to announce the recipient of this year's CineMerit Award. US actress Gillian Anderson will receive this honor for her achievements in the art of film. The Award Ceremony will be held during a gala evening at the Deutsches Theater that will include the German premiere of her latest film, "The Salt Path."

"Gillian Anderson's incredible versatility never ceases to amaze us: an FBI agent, a sex therapist, an Iron Lady. "The Salt Path," adapted from a best-selling novel, reveals a whole new side to her, which we will all get to explore at the Deutsches Theater. By honoring Gillian Anderson, we are saluting a person who embodies much more than an impressive career. She represents strong womanhood and smart decisions, and is a model of principles and integrity."

Julia Weigl and Christoph Gröner - The festival's artistic directors

For more than three decades, Gillian Anderson's capabilities as an actress have enthralled audiences around the world. In films, television, and theater productions, she has chosen to portray characters who are very different but are all strong and sophisticated women.

Gillian Anderson's breakthrough came in the 1990s, when she took the role of astute, assertive FBI Agent Dana Scully in the US television series "The X-Files." As her career progressed, she appeared in a variety of motion pictures, but also stayed in television. From 2012 to 2015, she gave a powerful performance as Hannibal Lecter's psychiatrist Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier in the NBC series "Hannibal." In 2020, her portrayal of the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher, in "The Crown" earned her several awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe. A new generation of viewers became familiar with Anderson through "Sex Education" (2019-2023). In this Netflix series, she plays a free-spirited sex therapist, Dr. Jean Milburn, who breaks taboos and exemplifies female empowerment. Personal development is also the theme of her current film, "The Salt Path" (directed by Marianne Elliott, screenplay by Rebecca Lenkiewicz) - a drama about a married couple who lose everything and defy fate by choosing to follow a difficult path.

Gillian Anderson's artistic achievements have garnered widespread recognition, including two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, and three nominations for the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award.

A multitalented artist and committed feminist

Alongside her acting career, Gillian Anderson is also a successful author, producer, and voice artist. She compiled the book "Want: Sexual Fantasies by Anonymous", produced the television series "The Fall", and narrated documentaries such as "The Widowmaker." She was the first woman to direct and write an episode of "The X-Files."

Gillian Anderson says that feminism is part of her DNA. Her portrayal of savvy and self-reliant Agent Scully in "The X-Files" inspired an entire generation of young women to pursue careers in science (the "Scully effect.") Her books give a platform to women and destigmatize such topics as women's sexual desires. Anderson is also actively committed to social justice, supporting organizations such as Women for Women International that enable women to live better lives.

LOS ANGELES (May 30, 2025) - SAG-AFTRA has unveiled a new online tool to help producers with the signatory process. The Producer Portal, now in second-stage beta, makes managing the paperwork of union-signed film productions a breeze. Memorial DayMemorialFlag380w.jpg

TVI's Gary Sunkin poses with Flag at Forest Lawn, Los Angeles

What we now refer to as Memorial Day began as Decoration Day just after the Civil War in 1868. It was established as a day to remember the war dead by decorating their graves with flowers. The North and The South originally observed Decoration Day on different days until the mid-20th century when the last Monday of the month was chosen to honor all Americans who died while serving in the military.

On Memorial Day, the flag of the United States is raised briskly to the top of the staff and then solemnly lowered to the half-staff position, where it remains only until noon. It is then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.

In 2000, Congress passed the National Moment of Remembrance Act asking people to stop and remember at 3:00 pm.

Celebrate unofficial beginning of summer with Memorial Day but always remember the sacrifices of our service members in the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. (TVI Magazine)

Fellow Americans, It's Gary Sinise here

G Sinise400wCr.jpgYou may know me from my roles in movies like Apollo 13 and The Green Mile or the CBS television series CSI NY -- but it was in 1994 and playing the role of Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump, that my life changed and inspired my enduring connection to our defenders, veterans, and first responders.

..... I've served as an Honorary Grand Marshal for the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. nearly every year since American Veterans Center revived it in 2005.
..... Now, I'm grateful to again serve as an Honorary Grand Marshal on the 20th anniversary of this important event.
..... This year will be a remembrance like no other, as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II and the 250th birthdays of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.
.
.
.... Friend, the National Memorial Day Parade is ENTIRELY FUNDED by private contributions, including from generous Americans like you. Will you help chip in today to help support the Parade with a gift of $25, $50, $75, $150, or more?

Support the National Memorial Day Parade

... The National Memorial Day Parade costs a fraction of other major public events to put on each year. In fact, the entire parade costs about as much as just THREE balloons in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade or TWO floats in the Rose Bowl Parade!

..... That means that every dollar that's contributed by a generous American like you makes a difference for this important event.
..... But I want to reiterate that American Veterans Center does not take ANY federal funding for this event. It is funded entirely by private citizens like you who want to honor those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
..... Your support of the American Veterans Center not only helps the Parade, but also supports great programs like:

• Record hundreds of oral histories of veterans from World War II to Today before we lose these stories forever.

• Hold our National Youth Summit which allows young students a chance to hear first-hand from veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

• Produce veteran focused T.V. documentaries and specials that remind Americans the price of our freedom.

Support the National Memorial Day Parade

..... And no matter how much you can give to this important cause, I want to ask something additional of you.
..... On Memorial Day -- not just this momentous year of military milestones, but every year - please join me in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
..... Come to the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. Visit a local veterans' cemetery. Send a note to a family of the fallen. Or simply take a quiet moment to think about the men and women who gave their lives to defend OUR country.
..... I believe that while we can never do enough to express our gratitude to our defenders, veterans, and first responders, we can always do a little more.

Friend, thank you for your support of America's heroes, and please -- if you're able, make a gift to fund the National Memorial Day Parade right now during its 20th anniversary.
.....
Sincerely,

Gary Sinise
Honorary Grand Marshal

Memorial Day Concert

WASHINGTON, DC -- PBS will broadcast the National Memorial Day Concert live from Washington, D.C. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. E.T. as well as to our troops serving around the world on American Forces Network on the West Lawn of the US Capitol. This will be the 35th year the annual all-star event honors the men and women who served in the U.S. armed forces, as well as their families and those who sacrificed their lives for their country.

Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinis and Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna, who have dedicated themselves to supporting the troops and veterans' causes co-hosted the Memorial Day Concert for many years. Esai Morales is stepping in this year for Mantegna who has a minor inner ear issue which is preventing him from flying. Mantegna will be back co-hosting next year.

Cate Blanchett presented the award to Panahi, who three years ago was imprisoned in Iran before going on a hunger strike. The crowd rose in a thunderous standing ovation for the filmmaker.

This year's Palme was presented by Cate Blanchett and European Film Academy president Juliette Binoche, who also led the Main Competition jury. She was joined by Halle Berry, Dieudo Hamadi, Hong Sang-soo, Payal Kapadia, Carlos Reygadas, Alba Rohrwacher, Leïla Slimani, and Jeremy Strong.

115- Springtime in Cannes
By Josie Cory
A h h h . . . Spring in Cannes…where mild breezes blow as the warm Mediterranean sun smiles over this beautiful spot on the Cote d'Azur. There you can feel a timeless sensuality, assuaging a nostalgia for the Mediterranean which since as far back as the 16th century has been a constant theme in many a Northern European's life.
• • "Now give us lands where the olives grow," Cried the North to the South, "Where the sun with a golden mouth can blow blue bubbles of grapes down the vineyard row!" Cried the North to the South. (to borrow a phrase from the English writer Elizabeth Barret Browning).
• •"Cannes," wrote Charles Lentheric, the indispensable and erudite historian of maritime Provence, in 1880, "is a town where you feel no need to work," and "where the inhabitants were not interested in the world that lay beyond their shady gardens, or the sheltered balconies of their hotels."
• • Now the world has come to Cannes, chosen it to be their Mediterranean queen for its annual events, and when you stroll along the Croisette on some warm April day you will hardly share Mr. Lenteric's sentiments. Voila! Cannes! It has emerged truly cosmopolitan.

115- CANNES remains the jewel among festival towns
Cannes is host to the annual Festival de Cannes, as well as MIDEM, MIP TV and MICOM
(Marché International des Programmes de Communication, owned and organized by Reed MIDEM). It's been 39 years since TVI under Cory's ownership first covered MIPCOM in 1987.
•••• Although Cannes has remained the quintessential market place, despite enormous changes in the cinema, television and social media landscape, it was more casual back in 1987, of course. You could hang out with studio executives without much planning or go see a performer in his hotel room and spend the afternoon in discussing the latest video. There was no "French day," the interview period now set aside so French journalists can get their stories before everyone else.
•••• And many things were simpler. Though it sounds paradoxical, even getting stories back to my TVI Magazine -- it was less time-consuming in that pre-computer age. The festival headquarters had a room where telex operators who spoke not a word of English -- took your typewritten copy, grunted something unintelligible and transmitted it to the U.S. without a hitch.

Leo XIV elected as the first American Pope - (TVI Magazine)
Rome, May 9, 2025 -- Pope Leo XIV celebrates his first Mass today, Friday after his historic election as the first North American pope, meeting with the cardinals who chose him to lead the Catholic Church and follow in Pope Francis' footsteps.
•••••••The Chicago-born Augustinian missionary Robert Prevost surprised the world Thursday when he emerged on the loggia of St. Peter's Basilica, as the first American Pope.
••••••• Born in Chicago in 1955 to parents of Spanish and Franco-Italian descent, he grew up in a parish on Chicago's South side in suburban Dolton. Prevost served as an altar boy and was ordained as a priest in 1982. Although he moved to Peru three years later he returned regularly to the US to serve as a pastor and a prior in his home city.
••••••• Since arriving in Rome, Prevost had kept a low public profile but Francis tapped him to be head of the Vatican's powerful Dicastery for Bishops, which vets bishop nominations around the world.
••••••• Vatican watchers said Prevost's decision to name himself Leo was particularly significant, suggesting continuity with some of Francis' chief concerns: Brother Leo was the 13th century friar who was a great companion to St. Francis of Assisi, the late pope's namesake. Leo has also cited one of Francis' key priorities of making the Catholic Church more attentive to lay people and inclusive.
••••••• The First Words Pope Leo XIV spoke to the faithful from the Basilica of Saint Peter after his election were - 'Peace be with you!'
••••••• Dearest brothers and sisters, this was the first greeting of the risen Christ, the good shepherd who gave His life for the flock of God. I, too, would like this greeting of peace to enter your hearts, to reach your families and all people, wherever they are; and all the peoples, and all the earth: Peace be with you

Pope Francis (1936-2025)

Pope Francis has passed away - By Josie Cory - TVI Magazine
ROME - April 21, 2025 - Pope Francis died on Easter Monday at the age of 88 in Rome's Vatican City. The Argentine pontiff, history's first from Latin America, presided over the Catholic Church for more than 12 years, since March 13, 2013.
•••• He was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 17 December 1936 - the eldest of five children. His parents had fled their native Italy to escape the evils of fascism.
••••• The death of Francis was announced by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Irish-born Vatican camerlengo, a position that will be decisive in the coming weeks as he takes charge of the administration of the Holy See until a new pope is elected.
•••• "At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father," Farrell said. "His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of his Church."
•••• The pontiff died in the Vatican's Domus Santa Marta, where he returned after his long hospitalization. Pope Francis who suffered from chronic lung disease and had part of one lung removed as a young man, was admitted to Gemelli hospital in Rome on Feb. 14, 2025, for a respiratory crisis that developed into double pneumonia.
•••• Francis made his final public appearance as head of the Catholic Church on Easter Sunday, though he had delegated the celebration of the Easter Mass to another cardinal.
•••• He blessed a crowd of faithful from the loggia of St. Peter's Basilica. "Brothers and sisters, Happy Easter," he said from the same loggia where Jorge Mario Bergoglio was introduced to the world as the 266th pope.
•••• Pope Frances met briefly with U.S. Vice President JD Vance.
•••• "I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill," Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, said on Monday during a visit to India.
•••• As Pope and spiritual leader he made great efforts to heal the thousand-year rift with the Eastern Orthodox Church. For the first time since the Great Schism of 1054, the Patriarch of Constantinople attended the installation of a new Bishop of Rome.
•••• Pope Francis also worked with Anglicans, Lutherans and Methodists and persuaded the Israeli and Palestinian presidents to join him to pray for peace by bringing together the Israeli President, Shimon Peres, and his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, to pray for peace in 2014.
•••• He will be remembered for his social and economic issues, efforts to modernise the church, his advocacy for the marginalized and environmental causes and was known for his great humility and also humor.
•••• Pope Francis' Funeral will take place Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. and laying in state for public viewing in St. Peter's Basilica starting Wednesday ahead of Saturday's funeral.

"... Love has triumphed over hatred, light over darkness and truth over falsehood.  Forgiveness has triumphed over revenge.  Evil has not disappeared from history; it will remain until the end, but it no longer has the upper hand; it no longer has the power over those who accept the grace of God this day..." A Child in Berlin: The Poignant Story of Heidi Posnien and Her Mother Durig the Fall of Germany
A Survivor of Berlin's WWII Atrocities Embodies Childhood Resilience
OGDEN, Utah, March 15, 2025 -- Heidi Posnien, now 88, enjoys a peaceful life in a farmhouse overlooking a lake -- worlds apart from her childhood in Nazi-occupied Germany, where she and her mother survived unimaginable circumstances. Despite the immense hardships she has endured in her lifetime, including outliving her husband and children, Posnien chooses gratitude for simple abundance, freedom and safety.
••• Posnien shared her strikingly clear memories with professional biographer Rhonda Lauritzen, recalling in vivid detail the fear and uncertainty that permeated Nazi-infested Berlin during World War II; memories of her mother, Käthe, a rising star in Germany's opera scene; and her remarkable survival in a bombed-out apartment during the final weeks of the war. 101- The Octogenerian - ATAS a glittering dream - By Syd Cassyd
Permission was given by Syd Cassyd to Josie Cory, TVI for publishing.
Hollywood, CA -- The glittering dreams of the world for a new culture and perhaps world peace through television and radio turned to ashes when Hitler used all media to destroy the dreams and bodies of more than 30 million persons.
•••• When in 1946 seven industryites in communications joined me in founding the "first generation" of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, we didn't foresee that in 43 years we would get the recognition that the "third generation" TV Academy has today,
••••We weren't naïve, for since Jan. 6, 1884, the first TV system had already been patented. For those 62 years world leaders had already visualized the impact of the moving image of television on society. The problems in America was not when, but who would control the new technology.

•••• In Life's current Bicentennial issue, radio checks in, at #86 on the hot "100 Events That Shaped America," 19 buttons behind Bell's telephone. Erroneously, Life lists Guglielmo Marcon's dots and dashes as the first wireless broadcast, a fable echoed by the World Almanac and Encyclopedia Britannica. It's a forgivable mumpsimus, since the evidence offered on the following pages has not, until now, appeared in any national publication.
•••• The birth of broadcasting is a bizarre soap opera saga, a lacrymal legend of mystery, machination, ephemeral enshrinement, decline, disillusionment and disaster. It's denouncement dissolves six miles north of Murray, Kentucky, in a two-room shanty constructed of pine and cornstalks, where radio's uncelebrated architect is discovered 48 hours after his death, his records scattered, his equipment destroyed, his brain partly eaten by rats. Even local radio fails to mention his demise. He is Nathan Beverly Stubblefield, the man history over-heard and then overlooked.

101- Cory's Road to China;

TroyCoryChinaLogo108w.jpg ••• Troy Cory was among the first international entertainers and the first American entertainer to perform in the People's Republic of China, beginning in 1988. In itself a notable culture-historical feat, in view of China's closed door policies of the late 70s and well into the 80s. The PRC's administrative climate in comparison is much less restrictive now and China's open door policy enables many entertainers to introduce themselves to the populace Chinese audiences.

• • Back in the 80s, as a goodwill ambassador representing the U.S.A., Troy Cory and his back-up dancers and singers, "The Brooke Sisters," were the first entertainers from the United States to appear in a full staged program in the People's Republic of China during the Shanghai TV Festival, and televised on China's National Television (CCTV), viewed by over 300 million people.• •
• • It was there Cory met Jiang Zemin, then mayor of Shanghai, and who later became the 5th President of the People's Republic of China.
The '88 Shanghai Concert was the beginnings of Troy's concert tours in China for the next two decades. The concerts, just to name a few, included the following cities: Shanghai, Beijing, Anshan, Harbin, Fuzhou and and Tsingtao (Qingdao)

Rice died May 19, 2022 at the age of 81 in Daytona Beach, Florida
••• He grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, and fell in love with the beaches of Florida on a childhood visit. He made his home in Daytona Beach, where he worked as a high school chemistry teacher and part-time lifeguard.
••• It was at his part-time job that Rice was inspired by seeing people all over the beach using Coppertone suntan lotion. He became determined to create a unique competitor, using his chemistry knowledge to experiment with a suntan lotion formula, scented with coconut and fruit.
••• He famously mixed his first formula in a garbage can, bottling it at home in his garage with a $500 loan from his father to launch his business. He named it Hawaiian Tropic to evoke an exotic beach locale.
••• His experiment was a hit making him a multi-millionaire, with his Hawaiian Tropic suncare brand creating sales of $110 million per year.
••• Ricewith his Hawaiian Tropic brand became known for sponsoring beauty pageants and NASCAR racecars.
••• In 2004 he accompanied Troy Cory to a concert tour through China.
•••After selling Hawaiian Tropic to Playtex in 2007, Rice returned to the industry in recent years with the suncare brand Habana Brisa.

114- Scott B. Whitenack-Stubblefield Esq., great-grand son of wireless telephone inventor, Nathan B. Stubblefield, died - By Troy Cory
Scott Bryan Whitenack passed away untimely on September 18, in Los Angeles, CA.
•••• Scott, aka Scott Stubblefield, was one of four children with siblings, Alden, Keith, and Priscilla. (His brother Keith pre-ceded him in death at the age of 32). His parents were Troy Cory Stubblefield, an entertainer and author and Dorothy Swafford, owner of a furniture and antiques retail store. Scott's children are Steven, David and grand-children, William, Bruce, Cora and Max, borne to Steven and Skylark. Scott's great-grandfather is Nathan B. Stubblefield, the inventor of Radio, in 1882, and patent holder of the wireless telephone (1908) and his great-great-great .... grandparents were - John and Priscilla Alden who were part of the pilgrimage who sailed on the Mayflower to Plymouth Rock from England in 1620.

(The Stubblefield story is incorporated within several photographs and denotes of and about S Scott to show how their personal ambitions and dreams parallel each other - both died - before their dreams and ambitions were fulfilled)

SCOTT.jpg
During the time he studied for the State Bar, Scott lived with Josie and myself on our family estate in Pasadena. He passed the State Bar the first time and was among only 33% to do so.
The balance of time was spent doing cinematography for my TV shows, which he considered an artistic outlet besides his major life's work, in the field of law. After he passed the State Bar he handled numerous legal cases and ended up working as an associate lawyer with Melvin Belli with whom he engaged in several cases and won a lawsuit that became precedent case law. Whitenack was committed to his legal profession for over three decades.

r•••
If you needed legal advice or help with a motion filing, Scott was there with his trusty law books. He was very intelligent, outspoken and an independent thinker.
•••• He also was a family man, who loved hiking and scuba diving, a good game of tennis and enjoyed bringing his sons to Paramount Ranch for regular family outings and Father's Day get-togethers.
•••• As to his love for cinematography he videotaped additional segments for the movie "Christmas around the World." Scott later became my producer and cinematographer for "To Catch a Dream" filmed in Europe. The video project brought him and the production team to Paris, Venice, Cannes, Munich and Salzburg. Said footage with perfect picture-book pans of the Eiffel Tower, the Seine River, the leaning Tower of Pisa and the Venice Bridge of Sigh, is a legacy he left behind for us.
•••• In the early 90s during the writing of our 4-volume set of books entitled "the SMART-DAAF Boys" about the invention of radio and the the wireless telephone, Scott lent a helpful hand in giving his legal aspect of his great-grandfather Nathan Stubblefield's copyrighted and patented invention. He also was the co-author of "Bank America, the Tortfeasor."

•••• ScottJohnWayneCrop200w.jpg

Scott as a teenager with John Wayne
at LA Herald-Express columnist Harrison Carroll's Cinema Reporting Prize press conference.

•••• His favorite poem is found on a card he prepared for one of my Father's Days titled "The Force That Through The Green Fuse Drives The Flower."

••••• He leaves behind his father, Troy Cory-Stubblefield, his mother Dorothy Steele, sister Priscilla Stubblefield Cory, brother and sister-in-law Alden and Sara Stubblefield, step mother Josie Cory-Stubblefield, sons David and Steven, daughter-in law Skylar, and great-grandchildren, William, Bruce, Cora and Max; Nephew Ryan White, and niece Jenny Wharton. His brother Keith pre-ceded him in death at the age of 32.
